Why the I Series?
METAL I SERIES

The “I” series is primarily used and designed in for water tight applications, specifically while in mated condition. Also out door and harsh environments.

Found in applications where the device.

The plug has an inner sleeve to prevent water from creeping in though the locking feature.
-
The receptacle has an O-ring to prevent water seeping in around the panel but also has an O-ring inside that seals the plug when mated.

This causes the connector to be bulkier, heavier and cost more. This series is commonly used.
